About the Department

The department of computer science was established in the year 1990 for imparting computer education for undergraduate with 20 girl students. It is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. To provide a strong under-graduate and post-graduate education that prepares students to enter the profession with a base for continued study and growth. It also equips students with skills and provides them with experiences necessary to be able to work successfully in the present sophisticated computing environment. . It helps students to become responsible Computer and IT professionals with strong moral values.

The department has incorporated within its degree course the M.Sc (CS) from the year 2003 with 25 students as self-finance course. After that, it was regularised in the year 2006. Students are equipped with brief skills in hardware and substantial software skills. In addition the department was started Shift II – B.Sc (CS) course in the year 2007 with 20 students for the need of rural area girl students.In the year 2015 sactioned strength of B.Sc and M.Sc has been increased .

The course aims at producing graduates who are abreast of the developments in their professional calling and are regular rank holders of the University. The department has the distinction of securing many ranks at the university level exams. In Our syllabi have been expanding the student's insight through the most up-to-date educational opportunities available.
